Christ blessed and healed all - regardless of their faith. When Christ walked the Earth with us there was never a question as to what faith a person believed in before people were helped and blessed - it was given to all. I think you should follow this example, with me, and do the same!
Please reconsider donating only to your mega church, mosque, synagogue, temple or other "Religious" organization. They are always asking for more and more money for buildings, projects and more. It seems they think they know better what to do with your gift than you do. Please pray in secret and ask God where to place your gift. The typical church leaders try to tell you that "God is watching you" to see if you have a giving heart then make you feel guilty for NOT giving your funds to them instead of to direct relief organizations, for example. Instead of donating to these "businesses with tax benefit organizations" masquerading as houses of God please try to do as Christ would have done. Give freely to all.
Forget about reporting, for tax deductions, how much you give your place of worship, also. Christ was very clear, both in the traditional New Testament as well as the Gnostic scriptures that people should give in secret. Your religious leaders, however, want to make sure that you and your family are "faithful". Time, in my opinion, to show these zealots the exit door. Your present house of worship does NOT need a new expansion, does NOT need a new park, does NOT need to do anything except make that empty-most-of-the-time building FULL of people in need and in crisis. Your neighbor needs your help, your loved ones need your time and care, your enemy needs forgiveness. These things matter, not material needs of your local, regional branch and national headquarters of your religious organization. These ideas are further magnified in the Gnostic scriptures.
Personally, I like Doctors without Borders as well as Catholic Relief Services even though I am not Catholic I appreciate their efficiency and both charities willingness to help people of all faith.
Why not step outside your comfort zone and donate to a charity of another faith? - non radical charity of course. This would be a step in the right direction in seeing the light of God in all people instead of just those who are like minded.
Gnostic Christianity will definitely give you a better insight as to what it is to be a true "Christian". I'm positive that the gospels contained within, even though I do not agree with everything therein, will give you and other new students the ability to further yourself along the path of light and love which Christ exemplifies.
God Bless.
